I haven't used the drive in a looooong time (probably around 6 years or so). After a minute or so, the IDE drive disappeared from the Device Manager. I then went and checked in Windows Explorer and on the Disk Management screen and the hard drive never appeared. Changing the Storage Controller's driver from "Marvell 61xx RAID Controller" to "Standard Dual Channel PCI IDE Controller" (this almost did the trick)Īs mentioned above when I updated the Storage Conroller driver from "Marvell 61xx RAID Controller" to "Standard Dual Channel PCI IDE Controller" the Device Manager refreshed the screen and my IDE hard drive appeared for a minute or so listed as "WDC WD1200BB ATA Device". Disabling or Enabling Marvell in the BIOS Set SATA mode as IDE and AHCI (best setting so far is leaving it as IDE)

Updated motherboard BIOS to the latest version (verson 1003) Setting IDE drive as Slave or Cable Select (if I do this the drive does not show in the BIOS) Setting IDE drive as Master (this is the best setting so far, as by doing this I can make the BIOS to show the drive as bootable device) I've searched through forums and tried all of the following without any success: I have a really old Western Digital WD1200BB IDE drive which I tried to plug in to recover some data, but I'm having problems with Windows 7 showing it on Windows Explorer and the Device Manager. I've recently setup a new build with an ASUS P6T Deluxe V2, i7 930, Windows 7 64bit, and a SATA hard drive as the main OS and data drive.
